There are two kinds of record here. The articles explain what a value on the product pages means — fin spacing, defrost arrangement, glycol ratio. The archive is the record of the 17 stands we have taken at 6 fairs.

- Fin spacing of 4, 6 and 8 mm: which one for which room The first decision in choosing an evaporator is usually taken to be the capacity; in fact it is the fin spacing that decides how much the room will frost up, and the wrong spacing halves a capacity that was right on paper within two days. Read the article
- How to choose a defrost system Defrost is not an accessory; it is the condition of the coil going on working. Which arrangement is needed is told by the room temperature; how often it will run, by the room humidity. Read the article
- A capacity figure only means something with its condition You can see two different kW figures for the same unit in two different catalogues, and both can be right. The difference is not in the equipment but in the condition the figure was measured at. Read the article
- Freezing risk in winter and the glycol ratio in a dry cooler A dry cooler stands outside and there is water inside it. Water that freezes expands; water that expands splits the tube. This is not a maintenance item, it is a design item. Read the article
- When epoxy coating is needed An aluminium fin lasts decades in clean air. The trouble starts where the air is not clean — and there an uncoated coil can lose its surface before it has even seen out the warranty period. Read the article
- Adiabatic pre-cooling: holding the capacity on the hottest day An air-cooled unit is selected against a design ambient temperature. The trouble comes on the few days of the year that exceed it — and those are exactly the days the plant needs cooling most. Read the article
